My passion for behind the scenes roles in TV and videography started many years ago with my A Level works (see below). However, during my time at University I have taken various opportunities to direct and produce videos and films. This has now fed into my current work on my latest project - Music Insider. I am now directing and presenting a series of interviews I'm doing with experts in a variety of fields in the Music industries such as promoters, artists and live agents. The picture below is taken from one of my most recent interviews I did with Scatta, a Grime artist from Coventry. Visit www.musicinsider.co.uk on 1st May to see the website go live and watch this interview!
Last year, I produced, directed and edited the cinematography for a Birmingham Conservatoire student's final performance as a conductor. You can watch it here.
This project, "Imagined Reality" was my first time directing and producing a short video, entirely on my own. I learnt how to do pre-production tasks such as storyboarding and casting to using a professional camera and finally editing in Adobe Premiere 2.0. I particularly enjoyed shooting the shed scene, specifically the close-ups of the girl on the floor. I learnt how to project light effectively onto her face and how to use a small space for many movements and shots. The best part of editing was learning how to change the way a shot looked by using colour correction, changing the saturation to 0% for black and white images, and how the opacity can be changed in order to superimpose layered images.
I produced and edited this music video for a friend. The music video addresses issues such as grief and bereavement, as the video portrays how the singer has lost her sister.
